I want to share with you the biggest lie in internet marketing that is still making the rounds everywhere on social media today.
This was something that I believed early on and it wasn’t until someone was explaining it to me, then it hit me like a slap in the face.
Not like this face slap though, but when you realize what you were doing wrong and not getting the results you wanted.
So what the hell am I talking about? It’s been coined the “breakthrough myth.”
Now what do I mean by this?
I had this misconception in my head (surely I’m not the only one) that I was going to find someone who is an accomplished leader (mentor) in the internet marketing field.
Offering some kind of done for you model that’s going to:
- Connect all the dots.
- Give me all the answers.
- It’s going to eliminate all the problems.
- And my life is going to be easy.
But business does not work that way.
The number one thing I learned about breakthrough… it’s you!
- It’s not a mentor.
- Nor is it a product.
- It’s not going to an event.
- It’s not getting coaching.
So what is the biggest lie in internet marketing?
In this case, all of the bullet listed stuff above helps and will make your life easier.
Because they will teach you things that will allow you to acquire knowledge.
It’s important to realize how knowledge can make you money when you take action on it.
But the thing is, you’re not going to have a break through from someone else…
It’s going to come from within you.
It’s going to come from you putting in the work consistently over a long time.
Over time, what’s going to happen from all the effort you put in, things will start falling into place.
Of course, I’m just talking about what it takes to get the results and what you have to do.
Like I mentioned above, I thought that getting a certain product or a mentor or something along those lines.
It was going to open up the floodgates.
It’s about doing the work that ninety-nine percent of people are not willing to do…
- Not willing to stick with it for 3 to 6 months.
- Or not willing to believe in themselves.
- Unable to work consistently day in and day out.
You can simply offer advice or help others who might be stuck, or sitting on the IDK fence.
You might be able to help those who are stuck, or those sitting on the “I don’t know” fence by figuring out what their needs are.
In some cases, when you’re are trying to build a personal or business relationships with, simply suggesting or recommending something is all that is needed.
Most of the time, especially if you’re new or just getting started, you need to…
- Pre selling or pre framing an environment to help them choose.
- Demonstrating a products value and answering questions.
- How will this solve their problem?
- Keep things casual like talking to a friend.
- Identify who the product is for and who it isn’t.

Everyday, I see people trying to sell right off the bat and nothing works that way in this business.
Ever get a friend request on FB, look over their profile and checked the bio and they seemed ok?
Never hear one peep from them until you like ONE post and then your Messenger explodes wanting to know if you’d like to join their biz opp, then it’s how you doing!
Or they send you something with Messenger and wait for you to respond?
Then when you don’t respond, they simply type your name and are waiting, like a vulture.
Just the biggest lie in internet marketing.
This is not something that you do three steps and everything just falls into place.
Now if you fall for these things it’s nobody’s fault except your own.
You need to look at things for what they are…
and realize that the only thing that’s going to allow you to create a big business is putting in the work.
The same people selling the three simple steps are the same people that are actually doing all the consistent things I’m talking about.
They’re just selling you a system.
Now I’m not saying systems are wrong, but you must understand that…
- None of these systems are going to make you money.
- The only person that’s going to make you money is you.
- You’re the only person who’s going to give you a break through.
People come up with things like, it was so easy for him because they’re lucky, they’re not lucky.
They were willing to put in the work, they built and created their own breakthrough.
I don’t believe in luck I believe you create your own luck.
So right now if you’re searching for that breakthrough and you think that there’s going to be a system, a mentor, or going to an event is just going to change everything for you.
It’s going to be you and it’s not going to be somebody else it’s going to be you…
- Putting in the work.
- Building up that inner stance.
- And dropping those value bombs.
- And by building up those relationships.
So in time people are going to be willing to buy your products they’re going to be attracted to you.
Things will become much easier when you do the things that ninety-nine percent of people won’t do.
