Market Research Find Your Profitable Niche

Market research, hard to believe that many people actually skip this but not you, because you’re going to learn how to do it properly here.

Let’s think about something that you’re good at, or something you’re really passionate about, it can even be something that you’re spending money on.

Now do a quick check: Is what you’re thinking right now in the Big 4?

The 4 Biggest & Most Profitable Niches

  1. Health and Fitness
  2. Money Making Opportunities (both IM and non Internet Marketing related)
  3. Sex and Relationship
  4. Passion and Hobby

If your niche is NOT in the Big 4, let’s do some market research.

Go to Google and type in your niche keyword + forum. If you see some relevant forums, click in and look at the level of activity.

Let’s use “fitness forums” without the quotes as our example.

As you can see, this is very active with over 32 million results for fitness forums, let’s continue.

Go to Amazon.com/Best-Sellers and type your niche keyword into the search bar. If you see a lot of products and buyer reviews, go to the next step.

Go to Quora.com and type in your niche (fitness) keyword.

Looks like a ton of questions relevant to your keyword, you have found a profitable niche!

Once you’ve decided on your profitable niche (whether it’s in the Big 4 or not), it’s time to “niche down”.

Right now you have the whole market, fitness, and you can’t possibly sell to everyone in the whole market.

If you want to sell to everyone in the whole market, you’ll need some money…and A LOT of luck to be able to zero in on your true target customers who are really looking for what you’re offering.

So, the key is to narrow your niche. Let’s look at our example, the fitness niche.

Decide on who you want to target specifically. Are you going to focus on fitness for men or women? If women, are you targeting teenagers, single ladies, or moms?

If you’re targeting moms, are you targeting stay at home moms or working moms?

Once you’ve decided on a specific niche, (e.g. fitness for working moms), it’s time to come up with your buyer persona, your customer avatar.

Goal Of Your Online Business

The goal of your online business should be to generate enough of both active and passive income to support your desired lifestyle. While you provide continual value to your target audience to help them achieve their desired results in certain areas of their lives.

This business should improve your life progressively, and help transform the lives of others.

Something that you can pass on to your next generation, no matter how the internet marketing world will evolve in the future.

Getting back to the first sentence I mentioned earning BOTH active and passive income, and NOT just passive income alone.

Because passive income, especially in the IM niche, is just too hyped up nowadays.

Too many people think that earning enough passive income will allow them to relax on the beach somewhere.

Yes, passive income should be a goal of your online business, but not your main goal.

I’m sure people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and others have more than enough passive income to last 10 lifetimes.

But do they stop creating value to generate more active income and scale their impact, or do they go for even more?

My hope is, you will reach a point in life when making a difference and leaving a legacy mean more to you.

How many times have you watched or read in the news about some rich public figures who ended their lives? These people ended in misery because they didn’t see the real purpose of possessing their great wealth.

Think about it this way, when you die, do you want to be remembered as someone who’s made a lot of money online and lived the high life.

Or someone who’s equally successful, but used his/her wealth to touch thousands, or even millions of lives?

Now that could be the ultimate goal of your online business.

Let’s start by deciding how much you want to make every year, then break it down into the month and day.

Setting this basic financial goal of your online business is the first thing you do before getting into internet marketing.

Because once you have your financial goal of your online business, then start working backwards.

You need to know how much you must make monthly, and even daily to achieve your goal. This will directly determine your marketing strategy.

So if you’re working, your first goal should be to earn enough from your online business to replace your current income. And make that amount consistently for a few months before you decide to quit your day job.

If you’re currently unemployed, or a stay-at-home mom/dad, set a figure you’re comfortable to start with… or if you have little or no savings left, set a do-or-die figure right now.

For example, if you set $3000/month, you know that your online business must generate at least an average of $100/day. Which means you only need 1 sale of $100, 2 sales of $50 etc, per day.

The ugly truth about internet marketing is that you must convince potential customers that what you have to offer them comes closest to meeting their particular need right now.

If you are thinking about starting your own online business.

Even if it’s just to create a side income to eventually replace your day job income. Then you are on the right page.

You are probably sick and tired of working 49 weeks a year (I am) and having people to tell you what to do every single day, instead of having full control of your life.

How would it be to live life on your own terms and more importantly, the freedom to do the things you like whenever you want, without having to worry about money.

Furthermore, you must realize that this “freedom” everyone dreams about does NOT come overnight. Contrary to what some slick guru is telling you about his newest push button method on his get rich quick site.

The ugly truth about internet marketing is people who are fed up with their day jobs (or lack of money) are easily led to believe that this lifestyle could be easily achievable.

They become easy targets for slick sales pages, shiny objects and the 4 hour work week some guru is pushing.

Another ugly truth about internet marketing is that scammers prey on hopeful, unsuspecting newbies. They pitch their product claiming instant gratification, usually in the form of a shortcut to easy money.

Here’s what it might sound like…

“You can start earning your money back within a few days, hours, or even minutes! Simply by using some revolutionary method, or some never before revealed traffic source”.

Sure, instant gratification is just a small part of marketing used to influence you to buy stuff.

It can actually help us overcome our procrastination and indecisiveness. It makes us take the action to get the help and guidance we need.

However, in the real world, there are those who will influence you to buy the stuff that can really benefit you. And those who will manipulate you to buy the stuff you don’t really need.

So…for anyone who understands the ugly truth about internet marketing, it’s essential to know who to follow and learn from.

Blueprint to create success

Here’s your blueprint to create success in the coming months! Pick a business to start, doesn’t matter what it is, but pick something you like the idea of building or see value in building. Then ignore everything else.

This is exactly what I didn’t do. I decided on something, but two weeks later after not seeing any results, I found something else that looked easier and required less work.

That is NOT a blueprint to create success method.

I bought something based on emotion that made me feel good for a short time, but when it came time to put the rubber to the road, I got distracted when I saw something else that looked easier.

The only business that will work for you is the one you DECIDE to work for you.

Also…Don’t follow everyone you come across.

A big mistake is following too many people. 50 marketers who have 50 different ways of doing things and 50 completely different business models.

Work like today is your last day.

Most people get into this business and expect a two hour work day RIGHT NOW! But the harsh reality is it won’t happen today. You’ve established yourself at your day job, that didn’t happen in a day. So when you start your own business you need to work harder for yourself.

“If it is to be, it is up to me.” It may seem like I’m preaching to the choir, but once I realized I’m the only one who can make it happen, I started working everyday.

Have complete self belief in your abilities.

You’ll never have a completely fool proof plan. Getting started is the solution and then work on the things that you mess up. When you screw up and believe me…you will, just do whatever it takes to make it right.

Stop worrying about the “what if’s.” The what if’s cause a lot of people to go to their graves with dreams that were never accomplished. Successful people take action and they figure out how to fix things as they go.

When I make a decision I act on it right away. Not just online, but in all aspects. Make decisions and move fast before you have time to sit around and second guess yourself and (you know you do this) never get started. 

Want to see results in the coming year? You better be working on everything that will benefit you in the long run. Stop worrying about what if I do this and it doesn’t work. You better believe that getting started is the solution or you’re just wasting your time.

Quit being such an employee.

This is difficult, because the blueprint to create success means that if you’re working 40 hours this week, you wont get 40 hours worth of pay. You have to hustle like there’s no tomorrow right now and later you get paid back for all those hours of work.

In the start you feel like all you’re doing is wasting time or what you’re doing is not working, but that’s because we are trained to think (It’s not your fault, it’s conditioning from a young age) like an employee. As an entrepreneur you hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle and then you get results.

Realize this and stop thinking “why am I not making any money for the work I put in” and “why am I not rich yet”…then you’ll stay broke. Start injecting your passion into everything you do and actually make people believe you enjoy what you’re doing.

Speaking of which…..

Don’t preach the dream, but live the nightmare.

I see a lot of people pretending they’re successful or they enjoy building a business, but really it’s very obvious they’re only in this to get a quick buck. If I can see it…so can everyone else.

You must create your content with a passion, your message must have passion injected in it, your vision must be filled with passion with goals to help others. When you’re passionate about everything you do, people will actually see that and want to be involved with you.

Imagine someone talking to you then you reply with “I’m taking this to the top, you can either go with me or watch me do it.” See how powerful that is? That’s not a statement that would come from someone who isn’t committed.

Speaking of which….

Stand for something or fall for everything.

There are plenty of no load, dip shit assholes in this world who talk like everyone expects them to talk, acts the way society thinks is appropriate and they try to be someone they’re not which leads to extreme unhappiness.

Ask me how I know?

I used to be a manager at a transportation company and I was their go to guy who bent over backwards and when they asked me to jump I replied with “how high boss” <—- What a no load, dip shit asshole lol.

Listen, I’m not saying you need to drop the F bombs, get a tattoo that says “eat shit and die” on your arm or even put $20 in a swear jar and tell them to Fu*k off. But that’s me, and I will never change for no one or no amount of money. I’m just a family loving, pussy…cat obsessed, Ford driving American with a good heart.

However what I am saying is that you have to be yourself and stand for something. There never can be another “YOU” ever!!! There’s only one you and you have to realize you’re a brand. The product you promote, the network marketing company you’re involved in or whatever you’re selling doesn’t matter.

People are buying YOU. So start focusing on your brand equity everyday.

Give Massive Amounts Of Value.

Just selling someone a biz opp or info product is not going to work for you now. You need to start caring about your subscribers, have the passion to help them solve their problems and reach their goals and give them a great experience every time they come across you.

People are getting smarter and they want to do business with people they know, like and trust.

You can still build your email list (like me) and promote products, but one day down the road when that doesn’t work and you can’t just send people to buy products, then what will you do?

Start thinking about building up multiple channels and adding tons of value on every channel you’re marketing on.

When your content does 90% of the talking then it will be very easy to sell whatever you want to sell.

Blueprint To Create Success? Have Fun

Simple I know right?

Most people don’t enjoy this business. They’re only looking to make a buck. If that’s you. then  you should stick to being an employee.

Love what you do and enjoy the process of mastering your craft. I’m a entrepreneur 24/7.

Do I disconnect and have family time….damn right.

However I love this business and I enjoy every minute of growing both financially as well as helping others. The more fun you have the more money you will make. Pretty simple.

Bottom Line: Learn to bond with your subscribers and help them solve their problems.

Affiliate marketing is MUCH easier today than when I started.

Invest in yourself

Here’s why you need to invest in yourself. When I first started, I wanted to learn everything for free. I would search Google and YouTube for the information because I didn’t want to waste my money to invest in a business opp because quite frankly, I didn’t believe it would ever make money online.

This attitude held me back for years because…I admit it, I was cheap. I discovered that if you want to make money online, if you want people to buy the products you’re recommending and you want people to look at you as a credible source then you must first lead yourself.

Write this down.

“If you want to build a long term business that allows you to do whatever you want, when you want and how you want to without worrying about how much it costs kind of lifestyle, then you need to invest in yourself.” ~ Zach Crawford.

The more knowledge, value and experience you can share with your subscribers the more money you will make.

So how can I learn more about what I need to do and take action on what I already know?

Simple.

Invest in yourself (even if you can barely afford it) because successful people invest in themselves and their business.

You can build a business on a tight budget (I did), but if you want to be truly free, you have to focus on self growth. When you invest in yourself, you will raise your value, which in return, will make you more money.

Stop worrying about what people think.

When you’re determined to be successful, you need to realize that you will attract haters.

These are jealous people who will judge you and try everything they can to knock you down.

This usually comes from people who:

– Do nothing to better their own lives.

– Are lazy and want something for nothing.

– Blame other people or some circumstance for what they don’t have in their life.

– Are upset with you because they actually see you taking action and doing something about it.

If people aren’t motivating you, happy for you or generally concerned about your happiness, then they have no place in your life.

When you invest in yourself, that’s what is going to allow you to live the lifestyle you truly want.
