Take a few minutes and follow along with this step-by-step post to optimizing your blog for better benefits.
To begin, log into your WordPress admin panel and click on the Settings tab. Under General Settings make sure that you enter in your blog title and tagline.
For your blog title, focus on using keywords that relate to the theme of your blog post based on the content you intend to create.
For example, with this blog post, I’m focused on optimizing my blog, and my blog title looks exactly like this…
“Optimizing Your Blog For Better Results”
My tags would also include my keyword Optimizing Your Blog For Better Results.
With the “Membership” option, make sure the “Anyone Can Register” box is NOT checked.
A membership site is an advanced feature and will NOT be covered here today.
Besides, you want people signing up for your email list anyway.
Next, click on the Writing tab. At the bottom, you will see the update services.
When you publish a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the search engines and site update services.
Click on the “Update Services” link for most current list to copy and paste.
Optimizing your blog post and page titles.
Remember these tips when you are creating titles for your blog posts and pages.
Google usually shows 60 to 70 characters of your title within search results, so make sure to include your keyword in the title of each page or blog post.
And when optimizing your blog, make sure that your content is actually relevant to your keyword.
Using Meta Tags
Basically meta tags tell Google and searchers what your page is about.
If you want to use the main title, as pictured above, don’t do anything. Word Press will use your default blog title.
Or you can enter in a detailed, relevant description about the subject matter of your blog.
When creating content, including post and page titles, meta tags and even category titles, be sure to include relevant keywords relating to your niche.
Use your keywords within the first few paragraphs of your blog post or page.
Creating Killer Content

Creating content that is well written and informative is both time consuming and hard.
New content needs to be created on a CONSISTENT or your traffic will drop off.
People might use these options when it comes to creating their blog content.
- Writing it yourself.
- Outsourcing it.
