For example, I have been blogging for years to avoid having to put my ugly mug on camera.
When I first attempted to do a video, I didn’t even get one sentence out the moment I hit record.
The next attempt, I got a few sentences out and still couldn’t do it.
Man, talk about feeling stupid.

All I had to do was figure this out.
Come Monday, as I was walking from my truck to go to clock in at my job.

- Thoughts about the upcoming day.
- What I expected for the day.
- How my weekend went.
- And so on.
I did this for awhile until I became comfortable with it.
I posted one video on FB and waited for the ridicule to commence.
To my surprise people were liking and posting, “Sheldon when will you be posting another video?”
My mind was blown.
It seemed that many people reflect about their upcoming workday.
I just put my thoughts and experiences into a short story.
No one ridiculed me or said I sucked or judged me.
They actually liked what I had to say and wanted to hear more.
AHA moment, I realized I was the problem.
All my fears were self-created, and it kept me stuck.
By creating a habit and getting comfortable with it…
- I became a better version of myself.
- I realized I had to start listening to my mentor.
- And be willing to get uncomfortable.
- And to do what was required.
Maybe this is the problem you’re having right now.
You know what you should be doing, but you’re choosing not to do it because it’s scary.
Been there done that.
Growth is scary because it’s uncertain, and you can’t have all the answers before you take the first step.
But to achieve anything great and become the best version of yourself it requires you to have faith and walk the path and believe it’s going to work for you.
The moment you do this, and you continue to choose growth choices over comfort, is when the floodgates open, and you will start experiencing wins in all areas of your life.
And the best part is you will be proud of yourself for doing what is required.
