I want to share with you the biggest lie in internet marketing that is still making the rounds everywhere on social media today.

This was something that I believed early on and it wasn’t until someone was explaining it to me, then it hit me like a slap in the face.

Not like this face slap though, but when you realize what you were doing wrong and not getting the results you wanted.

So what the hell am I talking about? It’s been coined the “breakthrough myth.”

Now what do I mean by this?

I had this misconception in my head (surely I’m not the only one) that I was going to find someone who is an accomplished leader (mentor) in the internet marketing field.

Offering some kind of done for you model that’s going to:

• Connect all the dots.
• Give me all the answers.
• It’s going to eliminate all the problems.
• And my life is going to be easy.

But business does not work that way.

The number one thing I learned about breakthrough… it’s you!

• It’s not a mentor.
• Nor is it a product.
• It’s not going to an event.
• It’s not getting coaching.

So what is the biggest lie in internet marketing?

In this case, all of the bullet listed stuff above helps and will make your life easier.

Because they will teach you things that will allow you to acquire knowledge.

It’s important to realize how knowledge can make you money when you take action on it.

But the thing is, you’re not going to have a break through from someone else…

It’s going to come from within you.

It’s going to come from you putting in the work consistently over a long time.

Over time, what’s going to happen from all the effort you put in, things will start falling into place.

Of course, I’m just talking about what it takes to get the results and what you have to do.

Like I mentioned above, I thought that getting a certain product or a mentor or something along those lines.

It was going to open up the floodgates.

It’s about doing the work that ninety-nine percent of people are not willing to do…

• Not willing to stick with it for 3 to 6 months.
• Or not willing to believe in themselves.
• Unable to work consistently day in and day out.

You can simply offer advice or help others who might be stuck, or sitting on the IDK fence.

You might be able to help those who are stuck, or those sitting on the “I don’t know” fence by figuring out what their needs are.

In some cases, when you’re are trying to build a personal or business relationships with, simply suggesting or recommending something is all that is needed.

Most of the time, especially if you’re new or just getting started, you need to…

• Pre selling or pre framing an environment to help them choose.
• Demonstrating a products value and answering questions.
• How will this solve their problem?
• Keep things casual like talking to a friend.
• Identify who the product is for and who it isn’t.

Everyday, I see people trying to sell right off the bat and nothing works that way in this business.

Ever get a friend request on FB, look over their profile and checked the bio and they seemed ok?

Never hear one peep from them until you like ONE post and then your Messenger explodes wanting to know if you’d like to join their biz opp, then it’s how you doing!

Or they send you something with Messenger and wait for you to respond?

Then when you don’t respond, they simply type your name and are waiting, like a vulture.

Just the biggest lie in internet marketing.

This is not something that you do three steps and everything just falls into place.

Now if you fall for these things it’s nobody’s fault except your own.

You need to look at things for what they are…

and realize that the only thing that’s going to allow you to create a big business is putting in the work.

The same people selling the three simple steps are the same people that are actually doing all the consistent things I’m talking about.

They’re just selling you a system.

Now I’m not saying systems are wrong, but you must understand that…

• None of these systems are going to make you money.
• The only person that’s going to make you money is you.
• You’re the only person who’s going to give you a break through.

People come up with things like, it was so easy for him because they’re lucky, they’re not lucky.

They were willing to put in the work, they built and created their own breakthrough.

I don’t believe in luck I believe you create your own luck.

So right now if you’re searching for that breakthrough and you think that there’s going to be a system, a mentor, or going to an event is just going to change everything for you.

It’s going to be you and it’s not going to be somebody else it’s going to be you…

• Putting in the work.
• Building up that inner stance.
• And dropping those value bombs.
• And by building up those relationships.

So in time people are going to be willing to buy your products they’re going to be attracted to you.

Things will become much easier when you do the things that ninety-nine percent of people won’t do.

When you promote something that your prospects will get the most value from, you are already ahead of the majority of affiliate marketers.

You should always put your customers interests above your own and NOT a product or service which you think will make you the most money.

Let me ask you a question.

If you knew without a doubt that you could sell something and make a huge commission, but you know the product is worthless, would you still promote it?

The answer should be NO.

Sure, you can make money up front, but people won’t respect or trust you anymore and probably request a refund.

When you promote GOOD products and place other people’s interests ahead of your own…

you’ll earn the trust and respect of people who will always consider your recommendations.

So how hard is it to earn their trust?

• You offer a bribe to get the prospect to click on your link.
• Then you bring the value to convince them to opt-in to your email list.
• You deliver more value based emails linking to videos, posts and your sale page.
• More value based emails will have calls to action linking to your sales page.

When you use this “template” you’re building the know, like and trust factor.

Right off the bat, you educated someone enough to got them to subscribe to your email list.

They know and like the value you bring and are devouring your content.

Over the course of a few days, you have become a trusted advisor.

Not someone who simply emails you a sentence with their affiliate link and hope it works.

For example, let’s say you’re using email marketing as your main traffic source for an offer you’re promoting as an affiliate.

Your email list subscribers are placing their trust in you to provide answers to them that are helpful.

You do this by providing tips, advice, current strategies and relevant information that you believe will help them.

You certainly never want to offer products to your subscribers that aren’t relevant to your audience.

If you can point people in the direction of a product or service that can genuinely help them…

one that they will find useful/interesting/relevant, then you’re setting yourself up for success.

Promote something that your prospects will get the most value from.

Becoming a trusted advisor doesn’t mean buying and reviewing every relevant product out there.

The perfect scenario is a program or service that you are currently using and decide to promote it.

Another scenario you might choose is to take an educated gamble on a relevant product.

You buy a product, like it and think that your list will like it too, so you decide to promote it.

Remember that you have spent your valuable time and effort to build your list with subscribers that are like minded and are working towards their own goals.

If the sales page was persuasive enough to make you buy it, then other people might see it too.

When you promote something that your prospects will get the most value from, people will place their trust in you.

There are so many ways to start affiliate marketing that I wanted to share what I’ve learned from day 1 to help you navigate through it all.

Most people like the idea of starting a home business because they imagine how their life would be for them to work whenever or wherever they want to.

But many people find themselves stuck in a career rut, working long hours at a job they hate.

Clickfunnels is a good example of this, it is something that people need and can use in their business.

What traffic source do you want to use?

If you’re just starting out, its best to start with free traffic first, unless you have a lot of disposable income, as well as a good program to show you the ropes.

But for those of us that are working with a small budget, when you focus on building traffic the free way, you can implement what you’ve learned and duplicate it with paid traffic.

Find a program and mentor that will help you accomplish this.

There are many programs that offer to help people and finding a great program that offers you free, advanced training is essential!
